Nothing are a Thrash-quartet, consisting of Tank Johnson (bass), Tobias Shanahan (lead guitars), Kahwati (vocals, lyrics and guitars) and Dale Van Haltren (drums), that entered the Complex Studio with producer / engineer Roman Koester for the recording of The Torture Of The Nameless. This album comes with a ‘sharp’, massive sound, which goes well with the aggressive and rhythmic Thrash Metal Nothing bring. The technical, pounding and fast songs aren’t that renewing, yet a few moments show the band’s unique qualities. Amongst those some progressive and / or avant-garde riffs and intermezzos, a few melodic or fiery guitar solos, several tempo-changes as well as the slower pieces (nice contra-balance to the ragging speed-level), the injection of Death Metal-elements (a track like Script Of Sorrow, for example, even subtly balances on the edge of Black Metal grimness), the brutal grunts and the international and timeless approach.

It doesn’t matter if you prefer Slayer, Hatesphere, At The Gates, Holy Moses or Izegrim; The Torture Of Nameless might interest all of you…

80/100
