Band : Ray Gilman Upon entering this CD in my player, and putting it on, the first song struck me as a combination of Pink Floyd with maybe a bit of Peter Gabriel thrown in as well. The second song brought back memories of The Travelling Wilburies, but more rock-influenced. Song number 3 sounded somewhat like The Cars. The sixth song starts almost like Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing", but after a few notes changes quite drastically, and althougt an instrumental song, is by far the best I had heard on this album up till then. Song number 8 starts of with a funky bass guitar, and is also instrumental. Song 9 could have come from a Genesis or Phil Collins album. And so the CD goes on, with quite different styles and sounds. There's even a touch of jazz there (song 12). Then you get a song that could have been written by Saga or Asia. The next song starts with an oriental theme. So this is definitely not a hard rock album, but just a plain rock album. Fans of the abovementioned groups might give this a try, for a more fully fledged rocker like me, who's into a little harder stuff though it was just interesting to listen to, but I'd not buy it. 60/100 Erik Morren. |
