Band: A Kid Hereafter In The Grinding Light Hailing from Denmark, A Kid Hereafter In The Grinding Light isn’t just an average collective. With (former) members of Complete, The Raveonettes and Düreforsög, listening to nicknames as A Kid Hereafter, Kid Universe, K.I.T., Kid Handsome and The Shadow, this band brings a form of sonic and maniacal madness with a psychotic and chaotic purity. The thirty tracks, which last for only thirty two minutes, were recorded at the band’s home studio in four days only, to create the most honest album. All right, dear Kid Hereafters, simplicity as a fuck-off to the commercial business nowadays is nice, and yes, it can be fun, but aren’t you exaggerating? The pyroclasmic sound isn’t bad, the explosive performance isn’t bad, the earth quaking songs aren’t bad, but I’m not blown away at all. What I do like is the Punk-attitude, as well as the members’ individual qualities (all of them contribute instrumentally and vocally). And I have to admit that some of the noise-excerpts do have something. My personal guess is that just a small, limited Grind / Hardcore / Punk-public will get horny by A Kid Hereafter In The Grinding Light’s self-called successor of the 2007-album Rich Freedom Flavour, but I can recommend it to every fan of musical irony and sarcasm. 71/100 Ivan Tibos. |
