Band : Doro Album Title : Fear No Evil Label : AFM Records Distributor : Sure Shot Worx - Rock Inc. Release Date : 02/02/2009 Release : CD The German metal vocalist Doro Pesch is already 25 years in metal business. As a sort of anniversary she released a new album titled “Fear No Evil”. This new material is not quite as good as her previous album “Warrior Soul” but it still remains a typical Doro album. The album opens with a traditional metal song “The Night Of The Warlock” that already exists on her mini album ”Celebrate”. The title track of that mini album is also featuring on this new album. An another song, the beautiful ballad with German lyrics “Herzblut”, is also not that new because it appeared on a mini album earlier. Furthermore you can also find a duet with Tarja Turunen entitled “Walking With The Angels” with a nice combination of two different vocals. The other seven tracks on this new album are solid but not surprisingly good with an exception of the closing song “25 years”. The track “Caught In A Battle” for example is rather disappointing with punk influences. This new album “Fear No Evil” is certainly not the best Doro release ever and is 25 years not a good time to quit the business? 65/100 Guido Claes. |
