Band: Ektomorf The Hungarian formation Ektomorf did release seven studio and one live album before this one, and still the band is recognizable with a comparable intensity as in the early years. Ektomorf still bring a massive and straight forward wall of sound that combines Groove and Thrash Metal. The overall tempo varies from pretty slow over mid-tempo to pumping, but extreme speed isn’t applicable here. The f*ck-off-atmosphere (in both lyrics and music) is overwhelming, and it gives the whole a thrashy / punkish mentality. Besides elements from Punk and Hardcore, Ektomorf also are influenced by bands as Soulfly and Sepultura, as well as elements from groovy Death(core) Metal. Brutal, extreme, powerful, overwhelming, masochistic stuff for thirty eight minutes, that’s what Ektomorf’s newest release stand for (again). Recorded (again) with Tue Madsen, by the way. 78/100 Ivan Tibos. |
