Band : Live Album Title : Live At The Paradiso - Amsterdam Label : Action Front Records Distributor : Sony-BMG Release Date : 02/02/2009 Release : DVD/CD This is the first concert DVD by one of the greatest live bands Live. It’s a true memento for the fans with an overview of Live’s greatest hits. “Live at the Paradiso” collects material from two shows Live performed at the titular Amsterdam venue during the summer of 2008. But apart from that there is also a separate live CD being released simultaneously, with two new studio cuts included “Forever” and “Purifier”. In Europe there’s still a huge fan bases and the band is giving a huge welcome in Holland. To show their gratitude front man and vocalist Ed Kowalczyk and the rest of the band aren’t concerned with challenging their audience and play their biggest moments in 17 songs on this concert. The beginning of the concert is full of adrenaline with a fury of lights and massive opening power chords of "Simple Creed". And from then on Live takes the crowd on a journey through their greatest hits with the crowd singing along to every single lyric to every single song. It’s a great Live concert on DVD and also the live CD is of the same quality. Among the best tracks have to be “The Dolphin’s Cry”, “Lightning Crashes” and “I Alone”. But honestly, the two new tracks, “Forever” and “Purifier” seemed almost anti-climactic after the passion of the live tracks before them. It’s great to know that the band is together and still recording new tracks but I have a feeling that their moments of glory are far beyond them. 80/100 Guido Claes. |
