Band: Unlight The German Black Metal formation Unlight (not the German Death’n’Roll-band, not the so-called Black Metal band from Australia or the Polish Death Metal formation) sort of celebrates its tenth anniversary with the release of the third full length studio album, Death Consecrates With Blood. This album lasts for almost forty six minutes and isn’t that different from the former material, as a matter of fact. Unlight’s Black Metal does not bring something new or renewing, but it certainly sounds somewhat predictable. Fast yet melodic rhythms and the thrashy rhythm section change a lot in tempo, the vocals are sulphuric, and the atmosphere is heretic. Yep, it isn’t the first time I seem to hear this stuff??? However, even though the level of originality corresponds to the outside temperature at this moment (it’s freezing, you see), the performance is splendid, the compositions are decently created, and the production is somewhat raw and rough, which all are elements that make the lack of having an own face less painful. Not world-shocking, just unlightly fun! 80/100 Ivan Tibos. |
