This Los Angeles foursome knows how to get attention, which gets obvious in every track on their latest album called Bringer of Plagues. The guys kick of with the appropriate named “Facebreaker,” an overdose of brutality that starts with blasts of beats and primal screams before getting into more of a groove.

Divine Heresy worked hard on this one, they putted a lot of metalcore and deathcore elements in their sound, but also thrash, modern metal and death metal. Dino Cazares has proven again that he can shred and that his riff writing is one of the best there is these days.
The album has galloping thrash riffs and more of a melodic feel. A symphonic interlude gives way to more brutality and compliments it. This together with a combination of intensity and melody makes it an album that makes your jaw drop. It also has that huge element, like the songs come straight out of horror movies. But for me, there is one little downside. I’m really not a fan of the vocals that sound a bit odd in comparison of the brutal musicianship of the rest of the band.

93/100
