Narnia ....the melodic metal masters from Sweden unleashed their 6th studio album over humanity ....the "Course of a generation" also marks the debut of the new lead singer German Pascual (Mind's eye). The line-up is completed by Carl Johan Grimmark on guitar/keyboard, Andreas Passmark on bass and Andreas Johansson on drums.

Now I 've been told that it is heavier and better then their previous work...I even read somewhere that this is their best album so far... now that can all be true but untill a few weeks I never even heard of Narnia.

"Course of a generation" is heavy and melodic at the same time which makes it accessible for a broad audience. It is somewhere between heavy metal and power metal. Although you will not like all songs first time around ...a lot of songs will grow on you when listen to them a few times more.
My favorite song is without any doubt the final track "Behind the curtain". The opening piano piece gives the impression that this will be a ballad but then guitar and drums take over and the piano tune fades away but it pops up later on in the song. Most songs have the same straight pattern but like I said "Behind the curtain" is different. "Sail around the world", Armageddon", "Rain" and "Miles away" are the heaviest, most straightforward songs on the album. "Scared" is also worth mentioning because of the catchy chorus. There are a few songs I did not mention because they are not worth mentioning.

Solid album but they are not there yet

75/100
