Title: The Passage
Label: Black Bards Entertainment
Distribution: Sonic Rendezvous
Release date: 24/06/2009
Review: CD
Heathen Foray hail from Austria and in their home country this band is rather popular, yet they were also able to perform on the 2008-edition of Paganfest. In a few months they will celebrate their fourth anniversary, yet throughout those years, the band underwent many line-up changes.
Last year, the quintet entered the Austrian Rockstudio to record their debut full length album (they did release one demo before, the 2007-recording Forest). The result is a well-balanced mixture of epic Folk / Viking Metal, up-tempo Power / Thrash, and catchy Death Metal with a rather modern sound. The members’ pleasure to rock gets strengthened by the intelligent song writing and professional performance. The marriage of melody and power is a harmonious one like an unholy union of emotions and strength.
Duration: 43:29 minutes.
