CD REVIEW Dismember

Band: Dismember
Title: Under Blood Red Skies
Label: Regain Records
Distribution: Suburban - Bertus
Release date: 15/08/2009
Review: Double-DVD

Dismember are one of the oldest bands within the Swedish Death Metal scene, known for its excellent studio releases and great live performances all over the world. The latter often goes along with fiery pyrotechnics and a nice equilibrium between brutal Death Metal madness and relaxing humour.
Under Blood Red Skies will become a must for every Dismember-fan that can also appreciate DVD-material. First of all the disc consists of live material, recorded in Holland and Germany (the Party San festival; 2008). Quality of both sound and visuals is, of course, more than acceptable, and the performance, well, if you’ve ever seen this band performing live, then you know this equals a high level of craftsmanship and professionalism. Remarkable is the performance of the complete Like An Everflowing Stream-album, done for the first time and rather unique. Oke, it is a classic album, that’s evident, yet it is fun to undergo this with pleasure.
The second disc consists of back ground material, live footage, back stage, interviews, additional live fragments and documentary material from ‘on the road’. Sometimes boring as Hell, sometimes funny and interactive.
