This Yankee band from Portland, Maine Sparks the Rescue was formed when members of three high school bands met and stated jamming. Toby McAllister, Ben Briggs and Nate Spencer formed the group Pozer in 1999, while still in junior high school. After years of local shows and competing in battle of the bands competitions, Patrick O’Connell strengthened the band on guitars and vocals and Marty Mcmorrow on keyboard but left after a while.

Upon hearing the album, you’ll directly know what kind of band it is. You can hear the living at the shore influence this punk/rock band and it works in some way. Simple and catchy “more pop than rock” songs that sound kind of happy and cheerful that try to make you happy and actually do the job. It’s like a more modern version of the beach boys.
This is a refreshing brake from the 13 in a dozen mainstream bands you hear on the radio every day and I really hope these guys stick to this formula.

92/100
