Band: Subaudition Auerbach Tonträger is a sub-division of Prophecy Productions, known for more intimate recordings. One of the new albums on its rooster is Light On The Path by Subaudition, a band that gained some modest popularity with their former full length, The Scope (2006). However, Light On The Path differs from the former Subaudition-album. This album is less ambient but has turned into a more emotional direction, merely acoustic and integer. With an average duration of about six minutes, these songs balance on a cliff of melancholy and enlightenment, introducing strings, making purifying abstraction of minimalism, breathing art and soberness. The border with Neo Folk à la Tenhi is obvious, but of the melancholic kind. Also Sigur Ros seems to have been of influence, I guess. But I’m afraid the album might bore the ‘average’ (Metal) audience??? 65/100 Ivan Tibos. |
