Band : Onslaught
Album title : Live Damnation
Label : Candlelight Records
Distribution: PHD
Release Date : 20/07/2009
Release : CD
This CD was recorded last year during the Damnation Festival in Leeds. Apparently the band was in it’s peak form at that time. The crowd is enthousiast, and the band sound as if they’re enjoying themselves.
Sadly, as I’ve told before, I do not consider live albums as essentials. OK, there may be a few live albums that you’ve just got to have, but they are the exceptions.
For fans of Onslaught this might be essential stuff, awaiting the next album by them, but there it ends.
To top it of, the album only contains 8 tracks, ranging from their most recent album Killing Peace, to their older work.
Perhaps they should have made a DVD instead of a live album, especially since nowadays not that many bands still bring out live CD’s.
Now not being a great trash fan, as you might have remarked by reading my previous reviews of trash bands, I must admit that this more or less pleased me. I didn’t even have to use the fast forward button, and that speaks for itself. Maybe that’s because there’s some reminiscence to old punk acts like The Exploited, or GBH.
50/100
