Band : Status Quo Now let’s listen to the music and try to identify the chord. Of course if you know anything about Status Quo, you know they have a sense of humor and do not always take themselves seriously. Status Quo are without a doubt the godfathers of boogie rock and no other band in that genre has been more often copied. The Quo from UK have been around for more than four decades. They started late 60s as a psychedelic nugget band, but the more they changed band members, the more they drifted into the boogie rock genre. They are kind of cheesy but to be honest I don't care. Fat juicy thunder riffs meets melodic chorus, sometimes divine ("Pennsylvania blues tonight”, “Electric arena”) other times somewhat mediocre ("Alright”, “Hold me”) but always done with sincerity. “Gravy train” and "Bad news" are exciting stabs at rootsrock with some neat axe playing, and the album ends with a wonderful acoustic ballad of bonus track (European edition) "One by one”.
