Review : CD

Ten, the debut album that sold 12 million copies and introduced the world to Pearl Jam in 1991, will be reissued in four new and expanded editions.. The reissue of Ten serves as the launch of a planned two-year catalogue re-release campaign leading up to the band's 20th anniversary in 2011.
Pearl Jam’s 1991 debut release has got to be one of the great rock records, debut or not. The fivesome of Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Mike McCready and Dave Krusen make up one of the most dynamic lineups in grunge history. (grunge is dead)

Ten established the band as a driving force in rock music. Eddie Vedder’s soulful heartbreak vocals  here entrenched his place in rock history and, when combined with the other four incredible members, makes for a truly explosive release. Pearl Jam’s first album got a big sales punch from their huge hit singles, “Even flow”, “Jeremy” and of course “Alive”.

This shit is as vibrant now as it was 20-some years ago. A truly amazing release. Ten was a very strong CD, followed by the even stronger Vs and gave Pearl Jam enough oomph to continue recording and touring even today.
