Hailing from Paris, France, Necroblaspheme were formed in 2001. Pretty soon, the band was able to record and release a debut album, called Introducing Pure Violence (Destructive Records, 2002), but since then it went pretty silent. At the end of September 2007, the members (who are / were also involved with bands as Deny Life, Antaeus and MurduM) entered the studio (to be more specific: the Drudenhaus Studio, owned by Anorexia Nervosa’s Neb Xort) for the composition of the second full length, Destination: Nulle Part (meaning: ‘destination: nowhere’), which has duration of about thirty six minutes. The nine songs do not differ that much from each other, yet the variation in tempo can not be denied. Slower parts interfere with fast and rhythmic ones, yet extreme speed does not exist here whole the time – even though some of the artillery-drum salvos give a grinding impression. The full, overwhelming sound is pretty dry, which splendidly corresponds with the ideal production for such a pounding and oppressing recording. However, even though the tracks are pretty well-thought, I do miss the burning flame to enlighten the profound darkness. Yet I do have to admit that the members’ technical skills are of a very high quality, and the same goes for the very obscure approach of this violent Death Metal.
Conclusion: if you’re looking for a renewing album, then skip; in case you’re crazy about pretty conventional yet dark, somewhat misanthropic Death Metal, then +++!
