To be honest: after hearing the new Papa Roach for the first time we thought it sucked. It sounded clean, smooth and very catchy. Thank God we took our time and give the cd another shot a few days later. This time someone had cranked up the volume and we didn’t noticed that until we pushed play. All of a sudden we heard a lovely noise out of the speakers. Jacoby Shaddix gives himself 100% and comes to the point in the furious opener ‘Change Or Die’. The first single, ‘Holywood Whore’ already got our attention when we saw the nice clip on MTV. They continue to build on their carrier since the left out rap vocals on ‘Getting Away With Murder’. Jacoby really sings his lungs out. That they got a new drummer is something that goes by rather unnoticed, although the new guy does a great job. Also on the more quite songs Papa Roach manages to get your attention. Maybe ‘Carry Me’ could be a step to far for the male fans but he, you gotta please the ladies once in a while. The album concludes with another furious anthem that goes by the name ‘State Of Emergency’. Another song that proves this band is still going strong.
83/100
