When most people hear or read the term grindcore, they think the songs are about war destructor and the government or about how many women you can rape in just a few minutes. And this is were Washington DC based band “Magrudergrind” proves them right.

Except for the fact that they’ve included hip hop elements in some of the songs like certain beats, turntables and trashtalking. Their self-titled album is one of a kind.
Normally you could expected lightning fast guitars, but instead they focused more on atmosphere witch gives it a new refreshing edge.

This is not your typical grindcore album so it’s absolutely worth checking out, but there is one thing that bothered me a lot. The sound, the guys play awesome but they sound like an old school fuzzy sounding video game, and this pulls them a bit out of the spotlight.

79/100
