The wishing tree is an English Folk-rock band that started out in 1995. Steve Rothery of Marillion always wanted to do something more acoustic but never got the chance until vocalist Hannah Stobart gave him her demo tape.

This is where the ball started rolling and Pete Trewas (bass) and Paul Craddick (drums & keyboards) jumped on the project as well. A year later the released their first album called “Carnival of Souls”. But afterwards all went back to their own projects and interests. And now after many years the band is ready for it’s second release called “Ostera” after demands by the label. The album is less acoustic than you would expect and reminds you a lot of the song “teardrop” by “massive attack”. Still very original, but you can also recognize Alanis Morisette influences on a couple of tracks. The songs in general are pretty good and well played and produced, but I’m afraid that when people get an album, they want a good variated album and not a disc with 8 similar songs.
