Band : Fartherpaint Italian female fronted highly technical progressive metal band that's like a blend of Dream theater, Zero Hour, and Autumn. I can actually feel my brain going numb as I force myself to listen to it. I must mention, in all fairness, that the musicians are good at handling their instruments, and a few approved parts are to be found here and there. The music is far from simple in structure, and tracks like “No one is around me” and “Inside the cage” even has some quality in them, but Lose Control is a flat, boring album that tries to be edgy but fails miserably.. The band is capable of playing, even the slightly complex stuff, but usually the songs with many different parts appear as a bag of bones, without a spine.. To top it off, the production makes it sound like it was recorded in a toystore, with the annoying whiney keyboard noises and thin mistake-ridden rhythm guitars. If you feel like you still want to give this a try, then I say go for it, just don't say I didn't warn you. 69/100 Peter Brems. |
