CD REVIEW Rising Dust

Band : Rising Dust
Album Title : Taste Of Fire
Label : Emanes Metal
Distributor : ?
Release Date : March 2009.
Review : CDEP

I saw this band live a few years ago at venue ‘t Oud Liefken as support of a very pale Pale Divine and a crushing absolutely fantastic Place Of Skulls. That Gig, although being rather short really impressed me:

The CDEP contains 2 original and 2 covers and it’s metal in the veins of Solitude, Orodruin, Vitus and Pentagram but having a very distinctive sound and feeling of its own. “Song for the  glory” and “Rock suicide” are doom metal with a lot of traditional heavy elements and dark atmosphere. Taste Of Fire closes on 2 previously released cover songs: “Forever my queen” from the legendary Pentagram, and the smoke-flavoured version of “Iron horse/born to lose” originally composed and performed by Lemmy and Co..

This 4-song EP comes to compensate a little bit the impatience for the following second full length, which is scheduled for late 2009.
