CD REVIEW Trifog

Band : Trifog
Album Title : If I Could Change My Ways
Label : Right Index Finger
Distributor : ?
Release Date : March 2009.

These Chicago doom rockers have released a powerful, melodic and double guitar riffed 45-minute 8 track CD with a vocalist that sound like Chris Cornell.

With bands like Soundgarden, St Vitus, Goatsnake and Sabbath being their main influences you know exactly what you are getting, a down-laden doom monster style that accompanies the vocals if they were a match made in heaven and hell. Trifog are a powerful quintet that oozes heaviness in every step they take with sludgy guitars, crushing basslines, hatefuck drumming by Chris Wozniak (Lair of the Minotaur).

From “Trodden ‘neath cloven hoof” to “Preacher”  through “Azazel’s touch” to end with “Black fortune mistress” the power and enthusiasm of this band isn’t lost, which generates a fresh feel to every track. They sound very tight and the final result sounds very promising for their future.
