Do you ever have the feeling that your favorite song just doesn’t last long enough? Well than you are in for a treat. The five members of the Utah-based progressive metal band called “Hourglass” took it a bit to serious and released a double disc album that last 139 minutes spread over 10 songs (very long songs).
What started as a simple follow-up to their last album called “Subconscious” had grown in to a strive for an epic album that everyone will interest and forgot to look at their watch.
But when you fly high you crash hard. The album is an epic masterpiece that probably gets in the book of Guinnes world records, but it has also a couple of flaws in it.
During the album you hear that it hasn’t been mixed very well, you hear the bass coming over the other instruments. Furthermore, this band calls itself a progressive metal band but it lacks the distortion to be put in the metal genre.
So if you like unique songs and have 2 hours and 19 minutes free, you know what to do with this album
75/100
