“One eye to Morroco” is a little different from your average Purple-tune but I believe that was the point with of a vapor of a berber sound which is cleverly placed within this song construction. The kinky hard-rocking “No lotion for that” is next followed by one of the albums best tracks, “Don’t stop”.  “Don’t stop” and my fave “Deal with it” are tracks that have swinging drums, psych slide-guitar and a great laid-back beat, coupled with Gillan’s signature vocals. Gillan’s voice definitely is not as phenomenal as he was in the early Purple-days, but in this album he sounds particularly warm and effective. After all these years, he's still got one of the best set of pipes in rock'n'roll. If anything, One Eye To Morroco gives him the chance to show off even more of his vocal talent and Gillan rises to the occasion nicely.
Many good moments in this album, the rumba percussion of the aforementioned “Don’t stop” is quite thrilling, the ballads “Girl goes to show” and the sappy “It would me nice”  the blues perfection of “Ultimate groove”  and “The sky is falling down” and the slow-burning “Better days” and “Always the traveller”.

It is a great album for a more mature audience.
