This band converted me to the real thing, Heavy Metal, way back in the eighties. This was of course the Di Anno period. I remained a true and loyal fan up to the Blaze Bailey period, but once he became their singer I went astray for a few years, following other bands instead.

When Bruce returned however, interest grew again. Of course, they never released another album that could be compared to The Number Of The Beast, but then again, quality didn't lack either.
Maiden continued to bring out new albums, as well as bringing out Live albums on a regular basis.  So for all Maiden fans, this album holds no surprises.  The quality is superb & sound is great.  For all fans, who probably own the complete Maiden catalogue, this is of course indispensable, you just have to buy this CD.  For those of  you who only know Maiden from their most recent albums, this is a great way to learn to appreciate their older work. What's special about this album is that it was recorded  during a special tour Maiden did, starting in Mumbai - India, and ending in Toronto - Canada, called the Somewhere Back In Time World Tour, which took them 50.000 miles round the planet, playing 23 concerts on five continents in just 45 days.

95/100
