CD REVIEW Marilyn Manson

Band: Marilyn Manson
Album title: The High End Of Low
Label: Interscope Records
Distributor:Universl Music
Release date: June 2009
Release: CD

Marilyn Manson’s rock doesn’t shock anymore.
On this last album called “The high end of low”, the goth metal merchant keeps up his normal predictable tricks on songs like “I wanna kill you like they do in the movies”, but fans will be happy with more unpredictable material like “We don’t like to kill our unborn / We need them to grow up and fight our wars”.
This time, the album isn’t just about political statements. Now he takes on the now-familiar attack on middle-class morality.
There are some good songs on the album but to be honest, I miss the days of hits like “Beautiful People”, “Disposable Teens” and “Dope Show”. The songs on this album are a bit dull and predictable and at the end of the album you really feel disappointed, and wanting more of the good old stuff. Seems like Marilyn’s winning team formula doesn’t work anymore.

71/100
