Sixx:A.M. is a hard rock band formed in 2007 by Nikki Sixx (Mötley Crüe), DJ Ashba, and James Michael.
The band’s name is a combination of all of the member's names (Sixx, Ashba, Michael).

The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack is a concept album written by and recorded by the band and serves as the companion soundtrack to Nikki Sixx's autobiography, The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star.

The album is about Nikki Sixx's life when he was heavily addicted to drugs. It goes through different stages of his life, including the start of his diary, his first temporary quitting of heroin, and his relapse.
Because a story is told, it is recommended that this album is listened to in the correct order of the tracks to understand the meaning of it
The cd itself is one of the most versatile albums I’ve heard. Opening track “X-mas in hell” is like a story told with a Christmas Carroll in the background. After that, track 2 (Van Nuys) sounds hip hop followed by track 3 that’s a hard rock song. Everyone will find something they like on the album, the downside to it all is that Mötley Crüe fans may be a bit disappointed if they are looking for glam hard rock.

In the end its an personal/emotional album to witch a lot of people can relate to.

90/100
