Mortification is a Christian aussi metal band. The group was formed in 1990 from the ashes of the band. Over the years Mortification has released over twenty records and several videos on major record labels such as Nuclear Blast.

During the early 1990s Mortification was part of the upcoming death metal movement and we’re widely praised with their album “Scrolls of the Megilloth”. After the departure of their original drummer the band experimented with different styles of metal. Though the critics have not been interested in the band, they gained commercial success with “Blood World”. Later on they went back to their death metal roots.

But I have my doubts about this new album. I’m not questioning their musicianship or Steve Rowe’s vocal capabilities, both of them are awesome individual. But to be honest those 2 together really don’t sound like this band has been at it for over 20 years. I really tried to listen to the whole album (more than one time) but I couldn’t stop myself from turning it of because of this fact.

61/100
