Band: Blade Of The Ripper Blade Of The Ripper, hailing from Kentucky, is the main band of former Nashville Pussy / Hookers / Brothers Of Conquest-member Adam Neal. The quintet recorded Taste The Blade, with a total running time of 33:20 minutes, with producer Kent O’Bryan. The label defines Taste The Blade as ‘splatter thrash rock’n’roll’ with ‘the true spirit of 80’s metal punk’. And yes, that’s the most appropriate approach for Blade Of The Ripper’s old school majesty. The sleazy and groovy tracks breath a filthy atmosphere, the latter fitting well to the lyrics (dealing with devil worship and blasphemy, witchery, murder or fear). The old style-inspired mixture of furious Thrash Metal, angry Punk and raw Doom Rock convinces (almost) whole the time and must interest open-minded adepts of bands as The Accused, Venom, Motörhead, Nifelheim, Warhead, Atomizer, Antiseen, Warfare, Toxic Holocaust and Demolition Hammer. Dare to taste this blade but beware: it’s sharp, bloody and eager to cut over and over again! 81/100 Ivan Tibos. |
