Review: CD

The Las Vegas (Nevada) based quintet Molotov Solution used to stand for deadly and blasting Grindcore during the early years (think about the mini-split with same-minded band War From A Harlots Mouth), and they evolved their style into a more varying, somewhat progressive form of modern Deathcore. The intense tracks on The Harbinger go on in the vein of the tracks on the band’s self-called debut (2008), yet there are more drop-down parts this time, yet without ever betraying the roots. The latter means that a f*cking aggressive yet excellent grinding atmosphere still covers these barbaric eruptions. The compositions were written with attention for technically built-up structures and a sweet form of decadence, while the performance and sound are heavy as a concrete web-creature. …whatever that may mean ;o). Enough laughing: the real work now: The Harbinger. And it means good news for every Deathcore-fan. The intensity equals the filthy compositions’ atmosphere, yet still I might have one remark: it sometimes all sounds the same. Slower versus blasting parts, again and again, breaks and tempo-changes all over again, the dual (duelling?) vocals (a monstrous grunt and blackish screams); even in this case the whole might sound somewhat predictable from time to time. But as mentioned before, The Harbinger is more than acceptable.
Mastered by Alan Douches, produced and mixed by Daniel Castleman and Tim Lambesis.
