Review: CD
The Glasgow-based band Man Must Die started at the end of 2002 and soon, because of their motivation and qualities, the band became quite an act all over the British Islands. After the recording of …Start Killing (May 2004) and The Human Condition (review still available on the site!), both produced by Kataklysm / The Coalition-member Jean-François Dagenais (think Infernal Mäjesty, Neuraxis, Requiem, Malevolent Creation, Despised Icon amongst others), the band also conquered the European (and North-American) vast lands, and album # 3 will strengthen the band’s position within the extreme Blast / Death-scene.
No Tolerance For Imperfection doesn’t differ that much from The Human Condition. I even dare to pretend that this album is the logical successor of the former one, yet with only a slight difference: the sound. This might have to do with the Grindstone Studio and the collaboration with new producer Scott Atkins, known from his work for bands as Sylosis, Ignominious Incarceration, Savage Messiah, Behemoth or Cradle Of Filth, to name but a few, giving the whole a more organic (and less grinding) sound. This approach of course goes well with the technical and rough tracks, which might be some more intense too in comparison with the former recording(s).
At the same time, this band combines the technical efforts done by Cannibal Corpse and Suffocation with the intensity of Behemoth and Morbid Angel, the ingenious brutality Job For A Cowboy know to create, and the torturing intelligence what bands as Nile stand for.
80/100
