Band: Nightwish
Title: Made In Hong Kong (And In Various Other Places)
Label: Nuclear Blast
Distribution: PIAS
Release date: 17/04/2009
Review: CD + DVD
The DVD consists of a few parts. First of all there’s some ‘rockumentary’ about the renewed start, i.e. after the departure of Tarja Turunen. The first tour, Dark Passion Play World Tour, with new vocalist Anette Olson started in Israel and during that tour, the band performed over 150 times – indeed very tiring and intensive, nicely shown in this documentary.
Besides, three video clips have been put on the DVD too: Amaranth, Bye Bye Beautiful (still one of the most funny and sexy ones ever) and the acoustic-folkish The Islander.
The CD initially consists of tracks recorded during that very same world tour, and the specific tracks were recorded in, for example, Hong Kong, the UK, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and the band’s home country, Finland. The sound quality is very good for a live recording, yet again Nightwish are a band with the possibility, financially, to act just a little more professional than so many less fortunate colleagues ;o)
Besides, the album contains three studio tracks, among which the album version of Escapist and a demo version of Cadence Of Her Last Breath.
Absolutely recommendable to every single Nightwish-fan.
