Band : LastDayHere From Pieces Created is the debut album of the Slovenian heavy rock band LastDayHere.
Slovenia? Who gives a fuck about a band from Slovenia? I hear you think this, but allow me to say something about LastDayHere. Recently, I witnessed this alternative band as the support act of Black Stone Cherry and I must say that these five young guys from Slovenia really have the necessary technical skills and a big deal of talent. If this quintet would come from the USA or Great Britain for instance, I think they would already have been signed by a major record label. LastDayHere have more than enough potential to become an internationally well-known group, let’s hope the future will fulfill these promising thoughts, because to this date, Last Day Here still are an unsigned act. Indispensable elements of the powerful sound of Last Day Here are the hard driving guitars and the slightly hoarse voice of singer Marko Duplisak, who knows how to put feeling in his vocals, just like for instance Chester Bennington (Linkin Park, Dead By Sunrise). This is the same sound as the Northern-American examples like Nickelback, Staind and Alter Bridge, to name a few. Add to that the refreshing production of From Pieces Created and you end up with a product of fine quality. From Pieces Created contains 10 songs and has a playing time of 36 minutes.
Highlights of the album are “Burned Inside”, “This Time”, “Coming Alive”, “Hide”, “Saved From Falling”, “Never Coming Around” and “Deep Down Surrounded”. I dare suggest to the organization of Graspop to put LastDayHere on the bill of the next edition of the festival, this would be an excellent band to play in at the Marquee tent. 90/100 Erik. |
