The Amazing is a really astonishing debut album from the Swedish band The Amazing. The core musicians in The Amazing are Christoffer Gunrup (ex-Granada), Reine Fiske (Dungen), Johan Holmegard (Dungen and Life on Earth!) and Fredrik Swahn.

This 10-track debut is best described as a mood piece; mellow, melodic, acoustic guitars and psych at times. “Romanian” is probably my favourite, a heart-wrenching, Young/Dylan-jerkingly beautiful song, “Deportation day” is a nice dreamy melodic song that manages to float on the fast plucking of the guitars and an up tempo beat with a smile. “The kirwan song”, the sublime "Dragon” (truly Nick Drake-worthy), the 11-min “Had to keep walking” and "Code II” colure by Camel-styled keyboards are more strong songs with an excellent blend of folk, pop, rock and psychedelic.
