Re-isue of an origignal record released in 1991 by Epic. But due to the break-up of the band in 1992, the album was withdrawn by Sony and has apparently become quite a collector's item.

The necessity of re-issueing this album to me is unclear, since it all sounds a bit dated.  Not that it is bad, there are some similarities to Marillionat the start of their career, and every once in a while you als get some hints of Fleetwood Mac, as well as a bit of Jethro Tull, but yo do hear that almost twenty years have gone by since the conception of the album, whereas with Marillion e.g. with the exception maybe of a few songs, the albums still can be regularly played.
Stylewise The Violet Hour are not really prog-rock, since there are also influences of folk and symfo, and even pop.  In some articles about this band found on internet the music is described as 'dream-prog'.
Fans of metal or hard rock should stay far away from this album. Those who like the aforementioned bands might give it a try.
