Alexisonfire, pronounced “Alexis on fire” was chosen as a band name as a tribute to a stripper called Alexis Fire and a band was born
This 5-headed group is an alternative rock band from Ontario Canada that started its career in 2001. After releasing already 4 albums, a couple of tours and a JUNO award (something like a Grammy in Canada), this new one called Old Crows/Young Cardinals is about to hit stores next month.
The first thing you’ll notice when you hear the cd is a punk-isch vibe going trough all of the songs witch make it clearly there is a message in each one.
You will also notice that there are 3 singers, Dallas Green brings in melody when
George Pettit releases screams and roars. This combined with Wade Macneil’s punk rock singing distinguishes this band from others in its genre.
The music itself sounds muddy (in a good rock way). The only downside to the album is the guitar riffs that have a simplistic feel to the music, but it elevates the vocals what are the biggest addition on the CD.

80/100
