In early 2008 Saint Deamon a Swedish/Norwegian band, debuted with the stunning album In Shadows Lost From the Brave. The band started in 2006, and consists of  musicians who had already proven their qualities as players and/or writers in other bands.  As for Jan Thore Grefstad, the singer, most of you will know him as vocalist in Highland Glory.

In 2008 they toured extensively, and even appeared on some of the world's finest metal festivals, like Prog Power US and Bloodstock UK.

Well, now there back with their second album, just over a year after the release of  their debut. And what a follow-up it is. Produced by Roy Z (Judas Priest, Helloween,...) and Jens Bogren (Opeth, Paradise Lost,...) this is a cracking album. Just listen to the track Oceans Of Glory, a song that immediately catches you, and lingers on in your head. As for the title track of the album, which was co-written by Roy Z, this needs no words, another great song.

Are there any bands you could compare them to? There probably are, but I would not like to minimize the effort these guys put in this albums, by comparing them to other bands.  Let's just say that personally I get some Stratovarius or Sonata Arctica flavours along the line, but let's be clear about it, they do not, I repeat not copy their style, but give it a personal flavour.

96/100
