Band : Fall Out Boy Album Title : Folie A Deux Label : Universal Records Distributor : Universal Records Release Date : 15/12/2008 Release : CD One of the biggest selling things today is Fall Out Boy, an emo punk band with eye lined iteration of angry-boys-with-guitars. Their fourth album “Folie A Deux” is a confirmation of their previous albums and their attempt to get really big. The first single of their new album ''Disloyal Order Of Water Buffaloes'' is a towering guitar anthem built on wedding-march organs, thundering drums and singer Patrick Stump's limber vocals. It's a feat quickly followed by stadium fillers “America's Suitehearts'' and ''I Don’t Care''. It’s becoming to massive and the band increasingly suffers from celebrity meta syndrome. It’s all about so called well-known artists end up singing mostly about the problems associated with being well-known artists. But their over-the-top attitude serves them well. The musical mix on “Folie A Deux” suggests a band ricocheting between genres and eras, tempos and time signatures. It’s obvious that Fall Out Boy remain obsessed with Fall Out Boy and this album is their most exuberantly cheeky release so far. And the impressive guest list, from emo homeboys Gym Class Heroes' Travis McCoy to rappers Lil Wayne and Pharrell to eminences like Elvis Costello and Debbie Harry, can’t change this. 70/100 Guido Claes. |
