Eels is an American rock band formed by singer/songwriter Mark Oliver Everett, aka E. Other members rotate frequently, both in the studio as on stage. It all started In 1992. Polydor (record company) released “A Man Called E” under the name E. The single "Hello Cruel World" was a minor success. A Man Called E was followed by Broken Toy Shop in 1993. This was also the year when E collaborated with drummer Jonathan Butch Norton.

After 4 years since their latest release, fans will be happy with this one. Hombre Lobo feels both fresh and familiar due to Eels overuse of concepts that runs throughout all of their records. But the music is variated, one moment you’re listening to electro blues and the next slow, calm and freaky song that could be a soundtrack.
This album is mostly for the fans and won’t win a lot of new ones. The ones that do, will find that these are songs from the hart and mean more than the average songs you hear on the radio/tv these days.

92/100
