Band: Hail of Bullets
Album title: Warsaw Rising
Label: Metal Blade Records
Distributor: Rough Trade Benelux.
Release date: 17/07/2009
Release: EP
It all started when death metal vocalist Martin van Drunen (Born 1966) left his band to try something new. It was in the early nineties that he wanted to form a band together with Gorefest drummer Ed Warby and Thanatos guitarist/singer Stephan Gebédi. Later on Paul Baayens and theo van Eekelen.
But it wasn’t until July 2007 that the band wanted to record songs for a promo CD, got signed to Metal Blade Records, and got the chance to play in clubs and festivals.
Now, the death metal five-piece has plans for going into the studio to start working on a new album. But until then, we still have this EP called Warsaw Rising.
This short EP contains brutal death metal that is definitely worth checking out. Heavy guitars, doomy atmosphere and caveman drums make up this disc. But unfortunately the disc only contains a couple of new songs. The rest is combo of a Twisted Sister cover and three live tracks. Fans probably want and expected more.
80/100
