Birch Hill Dam are a five piece Boston, MA band who play a style of stoner rock that takes on a very NOLA feel with their music. The band exists in the same heavy rock’n’groove territory as Sixty Watt Shaman,  Alabama Thunder Pussy, Halfway To Gone or C.O.C. and plunders forth in the mode of a straightforward Slo Burn. The dynamic bourbon-soaked vocals by Mike supported by heavy, sluggish riffs by Sam and Jeff does its job and definitely leaves us with a dry mouth and thirsty for more.Top dirty and mean tunes like “Bed of nails”, “Soul giver” and "Searching for mercy”  help but the so-so version of the Kyuss-classic “Green machine” doesn't. While I really love the hard driving and fuck off approach the band have on this release and they write some damn good songs, there is very little variety here.

Still a worthwhile release and a must for fans of aforementioned bands….ya know that groovy sludge stoner kinda stuff. Okay go to hell and shove it.
