Band : Deep Purple Limited edition pressing of the veteran Rock band's 2005 album superbly packaged in slipcase with diamond design embossed trim and logo. The mighty Deep Purple returns with Rapture Of The Deep! The Mk 8 lineup of the band features Ian Gillan on vocals, Ian Paice on drums, bassist Roger Glover, guitarist Steve Morse and keyboardist Don Airey Simply put, Rapture of the Deep is probably the best DP studio album since their classic Perfect Strangers. Gillan’s unique voice is put to perfect use here and Morse’s lead work is exceptional. Paice’s driving drums grab you by the throat and don't let go. If you're a Blackmore fan, the title track and “Money talks” will not disappoint. It may not reach the peaks that Machine Head, Burn, In Rock and even Perfect Strangers did almost forty-twenty years ago but it's an entertaining return to form nonetheless. Rapture Of The Deep is the kind of CD that reminds fans why they loved a band in the first place and why they still shake their hips to them all these years later. Cosmicmasseur. |
