Inamba was started back in 2001, when its members (singer/ guitarists Jimi and Dean England, bassist Scott Harrison, and drummer Ben Race) were aged between 12 and 14, and inspired by Hard Rock and Heavy Blues. In the next couple of years the band members matured both personally and as musicians, and gained experience writing songs and testing ‘em out in a live environment. They also got a feel for the music industry by issuing several EPs and small releases.

In 2007 they decided to make a fresh start by going back to their early Hard Rock roots, and ended up creating a sleeze image to cope with the musical material, which is in essence a Sleaze Rock with nicely whaling solos and additional modern grooves! In their own words, “…Inamba plan to bring Rock And Roll into the modern day era leading the way for other great bands to follow and create a real Rock scene, refreshing today’s music industry…”. Well, their modern blend of Glam Rock/Metal (which I’ve seen described as possibly inspired by Guns ‘n’ Roses and Avenged Sevenfold) sure might do it, and the fact that they’re British might help too. Now all Inamba needs is for the British press community to create a new hype around the band, and they’re on their way (for as long as the hype lasts, regrettably…because that’s the way things go in the UK, isn’t it?)!

Although good for some fun evening (uh…I don’t even go to concerts anymore – too little time with this music journallist job anyway!), maybe you should check out what’s posted on myspace.com/inamba to find out what the band actually sounds like!?

80/100
