Album title: Insurrection
Label: AFM Records GmbH
Distributor: Rock Inc. - Bertus
Release date: 11/09/2009
Release: CD
Nightmare(the French band, there is also a Japanese band called like that) was formed in 1979. Since then it has known a long and variated history. They broke up, got together again, changed their line up, changed record companies, released cd’s, changed their line up again and so on.
And the year of 2009 is not different than previous years of the bands past. This year marks their 30th anniversary, JC Jess (the new guy) on guitar and being signed to AFM Records. So a new album could not wait very long to be released.
The album starts of very powerful and really has it all, sinister vocals, catchy guitar riffs, a tight rhythm section that lifts the album to a position were it could become one of the best albums of the year. Lucky for fans it doesn’t end their, they drew this line through out the while album. Unfortunately the band uses their winning formula over and over again and I lost interest at the end of the album due to lack of variation. But if you are into bands like Iced Earth or Nevermore, you’re really going to like this one.
87/100
