Band: Malfeitor I’m not exaggerating if I say that Malfeitor’s former album, the debut studio release Unio Mystica Maxima (review posted on 23/09/2007), was one of the best (Black Metal) releases from 2007, as well as one of the best releases ever in Italy (even though I do caress a secret passion for the Italian scene). The band members, amongst whom Malfeitor Fabban, known from such wonderful formations as Aborym and Void Of Silence, brought a merciless masterpiece, based on a Nordic sound and atmosphere. Incubus continues where Unio … ended. For about fifty six minutes, Incubus overwhelms as the supreme soundtrack for ‘Sonic Black Magic’, terrorising with a furious force and the most cold and grim atmosphere. Ultra-fast parts interact with slow ones, and the pounding rhythms support the oppressing and apocalyptic energies with an occult approach. Like it was the case with the debut album, I’m sure every fan of Nordic underground-sounding Black Metal will love this newest creation, influenced by, especially, the Norwegian and Swedish scene. 93/100 Ivan Tibos. |
