Band: Megadeth American Trash Metal band Megadeth hails forth from Los Angeles, California. As many of you already know, the band was formed in 1983 and founded by Dave Mustaine after he got kicked out of Metallica Since then, Dave has been keeping busy. The band has released a total of eleven studio albums (with this nr. 12 due in September 2009), six live albums, two EP’s, twenty six singles, thirty-two music videos, and three compilations. But at what cost, the band has known over 20 official members and Mister Mustaine gained an injury from witch he (after extensive therapy) got rid of. And now we’re waiting for the new album called Endgame to hit the stores next month. As a (almost) musician, I find this album brilliant. Awesome riffs even more impressive solos,…everything to make people like me drewl and jealous, make people like me wander why Metallica got rid of just such an amazing artist. No questioning Dave’s talent for songwriting and performing. But as a music lover and listener, I was still a bit disappointed. The downside to this one is that if you compare it to the previous album (United Abominations), you don’t hear any difference. And that’s a shame considering that Dave is such a fantastic artist and fans want to hear not only new material, but also a new evolution. 92/100 Jeroen. |
