This disc shouts from afar the band's love of Coven, Pentagram, Witchfinder General, Black Widow, Judas Priest, early Alice Cooper,….. Although the influences are apparent, Witchfield, a magical collaboration of members of SS Death, Paul Chain, Black Widow and L`impero delle Ombre, do not ape any of these bands. Instead, they weave their sounds into something that is distinctly their own... and they do it quite well. Overall, Sleepless is something that deserves attention, if not just for the fact that it is a well crafted, and enjoyable blend of obscure doom, 70s rock and nwobhm.
