Yet another progressive metal band hailing from Finland I thought. And this in a time where not only in their own native region you have many contenders in this genre, but worldwide as well. The band war originally formed in 2004, but went through some line-up changes, before all elements fell into place when Klaus Wirzenius joined the band as bass player, after which they went on to release a 3 track e.p. “Visions of Inner Light and Deeper Thoughts”.  Yet one final element lacked, a good, powerful vocalist, which they found in 2008 under the form of Simo Silvan.

But upon listening to this album I was very pleasantly surprised.  They add no new elements to the genre, but they produce very nice music, which at times reminds me a bit of Ayreon. What else can be said about this album ?  Well, keyboards are fantastic, as is the guitar work and the vocalist Simo Silvan is the right man on the right place.
As theme for this album they sought inspiration in R.A. Salvatore’s Forgotten Realms “”The Dark Elf Trilogy”.

A very good album that will feature high on my list of favourite releases for 2010.
