What can I say about this album? Well I sure as hell was not thunderstruck by it. Not that it is a really bad album, but there are issues that could be improved (a lot).
This is the debut album from Soulhunter, a three man German band. For a band just consisting of three members the sound is not too bad.
Music wise it’s hard rock, going back to the seventies and eighties; which is not a bad thing on itself, but are we still looking for a not so original copy of this kind of music in the 21st century ?
One of the major defaults are the vocals. Back in the seventies and the eighties you might have gotten away with this, but nowadays? Okay, Markus Glas might sound like Chad Kroeger, but there are times when he really sings off tone. Another remark I have is that after 5 or 6 songs it gets boring. There is simply not enough variation in the songs. On top of that the lyrics aren’t that good either.
Personally I find this is an album where either they should have postponed the release, and done some more fine tuning on the songs, or otherwise, if these guys cannot write and produce better material, should not have been released at all.
I will give them the credit of the doubt however, and wait till their next album comes out to make my final verdict.
50/100
